2-Book Speed Dating Form

3- Set up of Smartboard wit timer; 5-6 tables with 4-5 students per table 5 students at each table (2 may be ebooks)
What to do (Reminder, take a book fair flyer):
1-Discuss what is Speed Dating with books, norms, and book preview tips
2- Begin Speed Dating
3min -Practice procedure and view Scholastic video (remember to add barcode for holds)
1min -start passing out when video on
#2-handout speed dating and Book fair flyer
-on top line, write your name/PD. on hold card (deliveries after MS previews)
-write title first word and barcode
#3x 4min = 12 min Speed Dating (after first rotation, leave time for each student to write the title of the first book preview and we will use this card to rate books as announced)
3x- set a timer (like the one projected on the screen) for five minutes. For the first 30 seconds, they can peruse the books in the box at their table and select a book. Then, they spend 3 minutes reading the book to see if it hooks them. With 30 seconds remaining, they make note of the title of the book and give it a ranking. (Play songs)
3b-Rotate the boxes 2 times (pick table 1st time) = 3 rotations
3-Wrap up, turn in holds, and visit book fair (4 min)
